Jacobsburg Environmental Center Engagement: Kristy & Derek

Though they had been in overlapping friend groups in high school, it took a party a few years later for Kristy & Derek to actually meet. He seemed uninterested in her, so when she heard him telling a friend that he wanted to dread his hair, she volunteered to do it for him - never mind the fact that she had no idea what she was doing. When he came to pick her up a few days later she was looking up youtube videos on how to dread hair, but apparently it didn't go too poorly because these two have been together longer than I've known my husband! After a year together in Pennsylvania, they moved to Virginia and then Florida, where they now live with their furry friends and work at a skydiving dropzone (did I mention that these two are *way* cooler than me??).

I feel like I say it over and over again, but I am so honored by the way couples trust me with their intimate moments together. There's so much I can learn from couples like Kristy and Derek who have been together for a long time and still love being together.

Can I just say how much I loved that Kristy was barefoot for our session? She forgot the shoes she wanted to wear, so she just didn't wear any and it was perfect.
